About: Even though the children's music market is largely dominated by the BIG conglomerates, there is still room for the "Underdogs" of family music to break through. A massive nation wide movement of high quality kids music is brewing that can only be compared to the punk rebellion of the late 1970s. It's DIY to the max. Though this independent spirit cultivates some great music, it is anything but easy. There is still no direct route to the BIG time. This panel will uncover the potential of the industry to calcify itself and the ability of new independent entertainment entities to aggregate the Underdogs through mass channels of distribution.
