About: Considered one of the most popular and anticipated youth events hosted by a major film festival in the United States, the 4th Annual Austin School of Film Youth M.A.F.I.A. Day Film Festival & Screening during SXSW Film will be held Saturday, March 14th - Sunday, March 15th at Connally High School from 10am-10am (24 hours). Filmmakers, ages 14-19, get into groups of four and have only 24 hours to write a script, shoot, and edit a five-minute short according to set guidelines. Austin School of Film teachers and mentors, editing equipment, meals, and drinks will be provided. Each team must bring their own DV camera. FREE. Only a limited number of students will be allowed, and it's on a first come first serve basis. All you have to do is send in your contact information (every student must send in their own information) to Monica at monica@austinfilmschool.org. Make sure you include your name, e-mail, and cell/home phone number(s). As the film festival approaches, you will receive further information about rules and recommended pre-registration dates.
