About  Two actors struggle to woo the same girl with their knowledge of Brecht and Scorsese. A. Effect is loosely scripted and highly improvised as the actors adlibbed the majority of their dialogue and contributed ideas to their characters throughout the process of production. The characters were based on who the actors were in real life so they were essentially playing themselves and adding to the realism to blur the lines of narrative filmmaking.

About  World Premiere! Sarah Jane Lapp's semi-fictional, hand-drawn animation, scored by Mark Dresser and made possible by interviews with eulogists galore, follows a eulogist-in-training and his encounter with the interstitial spaces our communal memories create between mortality and immortality. A decade in the making, a portion of this film exhibited internationally, won a Black Maria Jurors' Choice Award, and, yes, screened both with SXSW 2006 and on SXSWPresents/PBS.

About  Dear Texas Highways is a cinematic sequence of still photographs that illustrate a darkling letter written to Texas Highways magazine.
The narrated letter is a fractured rumination of a disintegrating consciousness.
The photographic images are an interpretation of the visual climate thatthe narrator navigates over the arc of a single day on the road.
Dear Texas Highways is at once an absurdly cryptic suicide note and an appeal for redemption and mercy.

About  Grizzled morning radio legend Grant Mazzy has pissed off a lot of people in the radio business. That's why he finds himself announcing school closures and traffic reports from the basement headquarters of 'The Beacon' in the icy remote hamlet of Pontypool. On his way to work on a particularly frigid Valentine's Day morning, Mazzy is accosted by a dazed and mumbling woman banging at his car window who then suddenly disappears into the blizzard. As the workday continues, Mazzy and his radio station staff slowly discover that this seemingly innocuous occurrence may be linked to bizarre outbreaks of murder and bloody mayhem throughout the town. Veteran character actor Stephen McHattie (Hollis Mason/Nite Owl in the upcoming Watchmen movie) delivers a brilliant performance within the structure of writer Tony Burgess' taut War-of-the-Worlds-inspired script. About  The Horseman is the feature-length debut from 26 year old Australian director Steve Kastrissios. This raw, action-filled revenge drama, which received awards for both Best Australian Film and Best Australian Director at the 2008 Melbourne Underground Film Festival, signals the emergence of a serious new talent. The Horseman tells the story of Christian Forteski (played by veteran Australian actor Peter Marshall) whose drug addicted daughter dies after appearing in an amateur porn video. Christian deals with his grief by burning, kicking, smashing and stabbing his way through the network of pornographers involved in the video. The Horseman is a lean, tight film that boils down the revenge formula to its most essential, time-tested elements: an engaging story, interesting characters, and a powerful dose of skull-pounding violence
